(Cedar Falls, IA) -- Students from six neighboring states will now pay the same tuition rate as Iowa residents at the University of Northern Iowa.

The Iowa Board of Regents has approved the Neighboring State Tuition Rate for the upcoming school year. Students from Illinois, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Wisconsin will now pay around $10,000 annually.

UNI says the new rate will save out-of-state students $12,000 each year compared to non-resident rates.
