(Iowa) -- A new study finds nearly half of Iowa sports fans are less productive at work the day after their team loses.
Sports promotions site PromoGuy looked at data from the U.S. Census Bureau and the Bureau of Labor Statistics and found that 44% of employed Iowans say they waste an average of 1 hour at work the day after their team loses a game. That wasted hour amounts to roughly $19 million dollars in lost revenue statewide. Additionally, 22% of Iowa sports fans say they'd trade a national holiday for a personal day the day after their team takes a tough loss or scores a big win.
