(Muscatine, IA) -- Two Muscatine men have been sentenced to over 30 years in federal prison after an officer-involved shooting tied to a drug investigation.

According to the Iowa Department of Public Safety, in May 2024, officers saw Juan Aldo Beltran Delgado and Isidoro Barajas pick up a package containing 4.5 pounds of meth. When police tried to stop them, they fled at speeds over 100 mph before crashing into two vehicles.

Beltran Delgado then fired at officers, who returned fire. Both men were arrested on gun and drug charges.
