(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- Nearly 80% of the signatures needed to get the latest Cedar Rapids Schools bond on the November ballot have been collected.

The BELIEVE in CR Schools group says they've gathered 4,000 of the 5,500 signatures required.

If approved by voters on November 4th, the $117 million dollar bond issue would modernize three historic Cedar Rapids schools and renovate aspects of Kennedy High School.

The bond has wide ranging support in contrast to the previous $220-million referendum which failed at the polls in 2023.
