(Linn County, IA) -- Sentencing is scheduled for a Tama woman convicted of killing her husband in 2021.
Karina Cooper was found guilty of first-degree murder last week for shooting and killing her husband, Ryan Cooper. She wasn't arrested and charged with his murder until February 2024.
Prosecutors say she and Huston Danker plotted to kill Ryan Cooper. Danker is also charged with first-degree murder, and his trial will be held in August.
She will be sentenced on September 5. The mandatory sentence for first-degree murder in the state of Iowa is life in prison without the possibility of parole.
