Iowa DNR Reports Second-Largest Pheasant Harvest Since 2007

(Iowa) -- The Iowa DNR reports the second-largest pheasant harvest since 2007.

Over 460,000 pheasants were reported during 2024's hunting season. The population fell by 14 percent from 2023, with over 590,000 pheasants harvested in 2023.

Pheasant season opens October 26th. Hunters can purchase their small game licenses on the Iowa DNR website.
