(Iowa) -- A new national study from personal finance website WalletHub shows Iowans are among the most diligent people in the country when it comes to their personal credit.
The study looked at all 50 states based on six key metrics, including:
- Percentage of customers with collections tradelines
- Percentage of frozen credit reports
- Percentage of customers who have missed payments
- Percentage of customers who have active bankruptcies
- Percentage of customers in foreclosure
- Percentage of customers who filed a dispute in the last two quarters
Iowa ranked 1st in the nation when it comes to the smallest percentage of customers who missed credit payments in the first quarter of 2025. The state also ranked 3rd in the nation when it comes to the percent of Iowans who have collections tradelines. Iowa's lowest showing was ranking 22nd in the percentage of customers in foreclosure in the first quarter of 2025.
Massachusetts ranked number one overall, and Arkansas came in at the bottom of the list.
