(Iowa) -- A new national study shows Iowans are some of the worst tippers in the country.
Lending Tree looked at data from all 50 states and Washington, D.C. on tipping averages and ranked Iowa as the 10th worst state in the nation for tipping. The average tip amount nationwide is just over 15%, but on average, Iowans leave a tip of 5.06%. New Hampshire residents are most generous tippers, followed by those in Washington, D.C., and South Carolina. Nationally, Americans spend roughly $77.6 billion dollars on tips.
