Measles Case Confirmed in Eastern Iowa

(CEDAR RAPIDS, IA) -- Iowa Health and Human Services has confirmed a measles case in an adult male in eastern Iowa.

Officials say the patient, who is between 18 and 40 and is vaccinated, tested positive earlier this week. No details were released on his hometown. It’s unclear whether he traveled before the diagnosis.

This is Iowa’s second confirmed case this year; the first was reported in central Iowa last month.
