(DES MOINES, IA) – Vietnamese officials signed five agreements Monday at the Iowa Capitol to purchase more U.S. agricultural products, including $400 million in soybeans and meal from Ag Processing Inc.
Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig says international trade supports more than 380,000 jobs across the state. The new deals also include U.S. corn, pork, and ethanol byproducts, with industry leaders highlighting the importance of expanding exports.
Vietnam is the tenth largest market for U.S. agricultural products, and Iowa companies exported $244 million in ag goods to Vietnam last year.
