(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- The Hawkeye Area Labor Council AFL-CIO is announcing their support for the Cedar Rapids Community School District's facilities bond.
Rick Moyle, executive director of the labor council says the bond referendum is overdue, and that Cedar Rapids kids deserve a better learning environment.
The $117-million bond referendum would fund renovations to modernize three school buildings and address crowding at Kennedy High School.
The District needs nearly 6,000 signatures to get the bond on the ballot in November.
