(Iowa) -- Iowa's 2025 National Walk, Bike, and Roll to School Day is one of the most successful in the country.
Iowa's event ranked fifth in the nation for per capita participation with a record-high 132 school participating statewide. Iowa was ahead of most states in showing participation from urban neighborhoods, small towns, students, families, and teachers. The event this year included bike buses from Des Moines to Tipton in Cedar County.
The event is part of the Safe Routes to School Program run the Iowa Bicycle Coalition and the Iowa Department of Transportation.
