(Johnson County, IA) -- Johnson County residents will soon get to voice their opinion on the county jail and sheriff's office.

Three-thousand surveys are being mailed to county households seeking feedback on current conditions at the jail and plans for a new facility.

Johnson County Sheriff Brad Kunkel has been lobbying for a solution to deteriorating conditions at the current jail.

The Board of Supervisors and Iowa City City Council are looking at building a joint law enforcement facility.

The survey can be completed through the mail or online.
