(Davenport, IA) -- Some members of Davenport City Council testify that they never saw demand letters from three former employees who made harassment accusations against council members, and that they were just following the advice of the city attorney guiding discussions over settlement payments.

Mayor Mike Matson and several council members were in court yesterday as part of a lawsuit brought by a Davenport resident accusing Council of not dealing with the nearly two-million dollars in payments publicly.

Iowa State Auditor Rob Sand's Office is investigating the payouts as well.

The trial continues today.
