(Davenport, IA) -- The city of Davenport is now on trial over $1.9 million in settlement payments to former employees over harassment accusations.
A Quad Cities doctor has filed suit calling the payments void and unlawful, and accusing the city of violating Iowa open meetings laws while planning the payments.
Yesterday, the judge in the case refused to release recordings of two closed-door City Council meetings held on the matter in the Fall of 2023 citing attorney-client privilege.
State Auditor Rob Sand is also looking into the payments.
