(Des Moines, IA) -- The Iowa Legislature is coming down to its final stretch. As floor debate began on Tuesday afternoon, House Majority Leader Matt Windschitl (R-Missouri Valley) declared intentions to finish for the year.

"Mr. Speaker, I ask unanimous consent to consider all House Files and Senate Files and amendments that are necessary to find adjournment sine die in the next 48 hours," Windschitl said.

The move comes after the Iowa Senate passed a bill related to the usage of eminent domain on Monday. Twelve Republican senators had been holding out on state budget talks until that bill came to the floor. Legislators have been working to finish without pay since Friday, May 2nd.
