A Des Moines Democrat Is Appointed New Minority Leader In Iowa House

(Des Moines, IA) -- Democrat Brian Meyer of Des Moines has been selected as the new minority leader in the Iowa House of Representatives. Meyer, a former Des Moines City Council member, will succeed Jennifer Konfrst, who announced her candidacy for Iowa’s 2nd Congressional District on Thursday.

Meyer has served in the Iowa House since 2013. He is expected to assume the role of minority leader after the current legislative session concludes.
