Democratic Iowa State Senator Sarah Trone Garriott is running for Iowa's third Congressional District seat. She announced her campaign today.
She'll be vying for the seat currently held by Republican Zach Nunn.
In a campaign press release, Garriott says she wants to keep the government out of women's healthcare decisions and lower costs in Iowa.
Garriott lives in West Des Moines, serving as a Lutheran minister and non-profit leader.
The third district covers the Des Moines metro area, southwest Iowa, and parts of southern Iowa.
