(Davenport, IA) -- A woman from California that police say is involved in a nationwide bank theft ring is in jail in Davenport.

Investigators say the 61 year-old woman and a male accomplice used forged passport cards to withdraw around $38,000 from banks in the Quad Cities, and more in Iowa City, and Coralville last month.

Police say she was also wanted on a forged ID charge in Minnesota, and that another ring member was caught in Wisconsin.

A Quad City Times report says they're part of a ring that has used similar tactics to steal several million dollars nationwide in the past two years.
