(Des Moines, IA) -- Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley is defending wind energy after comments by the President.

Grassley is reiterating his support of federal funding for wind energy after President Trump called windmills stupid during a rally in Michigan on Tuesday.

Grassley says half of Iowa's energy is generated by wind, and it's an important industry for the state.

He adds that any decisions about continuing or modifying the wind energy tax credit would be made in Congress, not by the White House.
