Former Ankeny Chamber Of Commerce CEO Pleads Guilty To Felony Charges

(Ankeny, IA) -- The former President and CEO of the Ankeny Chamber of Commerce is pleading guilty to four felony charges, accused of stealing more than 250-thousand dollars from the organization over a two-year-period.

The Polk County Attorney's Office says Melisa Cox admitted to using more than $10,000 of the organization’s money for personal expenses and property, and she altered chamber records to hide how the money was spent.

She'll be sentenced on June 16th, and faces up to 35 years in prison.
