WEST DES MOINES, Iowa — A West Des Moines business owner is facing charges after allegedly firing a gun inside his home while two children were sleeping.
Police say 39-year-old Christopher Whalen, the owner of Hyper Energy, was intoxicated during the April 26 incident and threatened his wife following an argument. According to court records, Whalen began breaking items in the home before firing a gun.
He is charged with intimidation with a dangerous weapon and two counts of child endangerment. No injuries were reported.
