Iowa Justices Rule Railroad Not Liable for Suicide After Harassment Claims

(Des Moines, IA) -- Union Pacific won't have to pay in a wrongful death lawsuit, according to a new Iowa Supreme Court opinion. The estate of Philip Morgan initially sued the company, arguing harassment at work led to his suicide. In a split decision, the state's high court ruled emotional injuries aren't covered under the Federal Employers Liability Act.
