Missing Man's Body Found In Iowa River In Hardin County

(Hardin County, IA) -- The body of a kayaker who went missing has been found in Hardin County.

According to the Hardin County Sheriff's Office, 34-year-old Levi Mentz of Iowa Falls has been identified after a 911 caller reported a male found in the Iowa River. Law enforcement began an over ten hour search and his body was recovered just before 11 p.m. on Friday night. Mentz is believed to have been separated from his kayak on the river.

Law enforcement is continuing to investigate.
