Iowans spend the least on housing in the US.
A new report by WalletHub looks at the share of median household income spent on a mortgage and utilities.
Iowans spend just more than 18% of their income on housing costs, the lowest in the nation.
Homeowners in Nebraska and Illinois spend just more than 20% of their income, putting them at fourth and sixth lowest.
Hawaii is at the top of the list for spending the most, with more than 53% of the median income going toward housing costs.
