(Des Moines, IA) -- Tomorrow will mark one week since Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds announced she won't be seeking another term next year.

Aside from one official announcement, several high-ranking Iowa Republican figures appear to be testing the waters of a run for the job.

In a statement released Wednesday, Agriculture Secretary Mike Naig says his drive to serve Iowans would be his reason for running.

Attorney General Brenna Bird's statement says she's praying on the decision.

Iowa U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley says he'd support his grandson, Iowa House Speaker Pat Grassley, if he chose to pursue the governorship.

So far, only former state representative Brad Sherman has officially announced his candidacy for the job.
