(Iowa) -- Thousands of high schoolers are now registered to vote in Iowa through a program from the Secretary of State's office.
The Iowa Secretary of State's says 4,737 high school seniors registered to vote as part of the Carrie Chapman Catt Award program during the 2024-2025 school year. 120 schools across the state held voter registration drives, and 40 schools registered at least 90 percent of eligible students, earning the Carrie Chapman Catt Award Trophy.
Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate established the Carrie Chapman Catt Award program in 2019 as a way of encouraging eligible high school students to register to vote across the state.
