(Iowa City, IA) -- A feasibility study for a project that would bring the Iowa City Police Department and the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office under one roof is underway.
Each agency had separate studies done last year that identified infrastructure and space concerns.
The Sheriff's Office says the Johnson County Jail is overcrowded and the building is structurally suspect.
The Iowa City Police Department says their space inside City Hall is cramped and unsuitable for police operations.
