(Des Moines, IA) -- Cedar Rapids Mayor Tiffany O'Donnell is in Des Moines trying to convince state lawmakers to let the process for a new Linn County casino play out.

Lawmakers have talked about putting forth a bill for a new two-year moratorium on casino licenses in the state.

The last one expired in July after two years.

A developer has a proposal for a new casino in Cedar Rapids before the state Racing & Gaming Commission with a decision expected February 6th.
