(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- A suspect is in custody after an attempted armed robbery in Cedar Rapids Monday.
Police say officers responded to reports of an attempted armed robbery a little before 6pm Monday. When police arrived, they found an adult male with minor injuries to one of his hands. Police say the victim told officers the suspect got into his car, pulled a knife, and told the victim to hand over his belongings. The victim refused, and the suspect then fled the scene in a car.
The suspect was later identified as 19 year-old Joshua Kakina of Cedar Rapids. He was taken into custody around 11:30 Monday night. Kakina is facing multiple charges.
The name of the victim has not been released.
