(Montezuma, IA) -- The U.S. Department of Energy awards the city of Montezuma a multi-million dollar grant for Iowa's solar energy microgrid.
The $9.5 million dollar grant will fund the project designed to provide renewable energy from solar panels and batteries as well as replace aging substations. The proposal was submitted by Montezuma Light and Power and researchers from Iowa State University.
