Driver Facing Charges After Northern Iowa Crash, Chase

(Fort Dodge, IA) -- A driver's facing charges after the Iowa State Patrol said they hit two law enforcement vehicles, then sped away.

The Iowa State Patrol says while troopers were assisting in an unrelated single-vehicle fatal crash, a car hit both an I-S-P and Laurens PD patrol car before fleeing the scene.

The ISP says the suspect was driving on Highway 10 before Pocahontas Police were able to successfully deploy stop sticks. The driver then continued to rev their car before it caught fire.

Police say the driver attempted to flee on foot before being brought into custody.

Charges Filed:

- Leaving the scene of a personal injury accident.

- Eluding (2nd offense)

- Reckless driving

- Driving while suspended

- No SR22

- No proof of insurance
