(Benton County, Iowa) -- A jury has found Tacoa Talley of North Liberty guilty of helping his girlfriend kill her stepmother in 2022. The prosecution maintained during trial that Samantha Bevans could not have carried out the crime alone, and maintained Tacoa was involved. The body of Jodie Bevans was found July 14th, 2022 in her home. She died of suffocation.
Talley's lawyers maintained his innocence, saying it was someone else who was responsible for Jodie Bevans' death.
Investigators say the pair created a video on SnapChat about the murder. Samantha's First Degree Murder trial is scheduled for September.
