(Quad Cities, IA/IL) -- Local businesses and restaurants have showed support for John Deere strikers by offering free or discounted meals.
The Pub, Legends Corner, Fields of Pizza and more have stepped up to offer free or discounted food for any UAW member with identification.
“We felt we needed to help out a little and support them. My husband is a union worker and a lot of them have supported me over the years so we had to support them,” Mel Hesse, owner of The Pub told KWQC 6.
There is now a Facebook page called QC Supports the John Deere Strikers for union members to find help during the strike.
