A preseason game between the Detroit Pistons and Washington Wizards got testy in the third quarter. As the Pistons were in transition, Thomas Bryant ran towards the hoop when Blake Griffin grabbed him by the hip and threw him to the ground.
Bryant was not happy about getting tossed to the court and quickly got up and charged towards Griffin. Bryant challenged Griffin to a fight as his teammate, and an official held him back.
Griffin laughed off the challenge as he walked back to the bench.
Griffin was assessed a flagrant 1 foul for throwing Bryant to the ground, while the refs handed Bryant a technical foul for going after Griffin.
The Pistons would go on to win the game by a score of 97-86. Griffin played 23 minutes but managed just two points on 1-of-3 shooting. Bryant put up 11 points, eight rebounds, and three assists in the loss.
After the game, Bryant was fined $45,000 for making contact with an official during the scuffle.
