FEMA Opening Storm Recovery Center In Cedar Rapids

The Federal Emergency Management Agency is setting up a storm recovery center in Cedar Rapids.

Anyone who was affected by last month's derecho will be able to visit the center to get help applying for disaster assistance.

The center opens at nine o'clock Wednesday morning between the Veterans Memorial Stadium and Kingston Stadium parking lots on Rockford Road SW.

The center will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Mondays through Saturdays. It will be closed on Labor Day.

KCRG-TV 9 reports people who wish to submit an application must wear a face mask and stay in their vehicle when working with agents. The workers will be using personal protective equipment, including face masks while working with applicants.
