Eastern Iowa Libraries are working to offer more options to people after closing many facilities in recent months due to COVID-19.
Beginning Monday, the Cedar Rapids Public Library will be open, but only for people to use the computers.
“Accessing a public computer is really difficult and so we want to give that access back first so people can get back on a computer, get back on the internet, applying for jobs, doing those kinds of critical needs that we know that they have,” Community Relations Manager Amber McNamara tells KCRG-TV 9.
She says people wanting to use a computer will have to make an appointment and wear masks. Anyone who wants to check out books will need to use curbside pickup, which will also be by appointment starting Monday.
More information on how to book an appointment at the Cedar Rapids Library can be foundhere.
