City Extends Deadline for Applications to Serve on Boards and Commissions

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – (April 29, 2020) –The City of Cedar Rapids has extended the deadline for applications to serve on City boards and commissions for fiscal year 2021 beginning July 1, 2020.Applications are now being accepted for all current and upcoming vacancies on many of the City's boards, commissions and advisory committees. Residents interested are asked to submit applications by May 15, 2020 to be considered.

The Cedar Rapids City Council appoints hundreds of community volunteers to serve as members of the City's various boards, commissions, committees and task forces. These volunteer groups are a large portion of the support system for our City government. All of the City's boards and commissions play a critical role in public policy development, implementation and review for the City Council.

A list of current board and commission members, term expiration dates, vacancies and required qualifications is available on the Boards and Commissions page of the Cedar Rapids website. Residents interested in serving should submit an application to the City Clerk's Office through the website at cedar-rapids.org.
