Based on Governor Reynolds’ latest order, Marion is closing its disc golf course at Thomas/Legion Park effective today.
To discourage groups of people from congregating and help slow the spread of the coronavirus, the skatepark, playgrounds, fitness trail equipment, ball diamonds, tennis courts and basketball courts had previously closed. All schools throughout Marion have taken similar action.
Marion’s parks and trails remain available for use. Under the governor’s latest order, groups are now limited to only the people that live within a household. The proclamation also requires people to remain six feet away from people outside their household, which applies to parks and trails.
Previously scheduled recreation programs occurring during the month of April have been cancelled. Find the full list of impacted programs at www.cityofmarion.org.
