Location Data Company Gives Iowa F Grade for Social Distancing

DES MOINES, Iowa - Location data company Unacast has given six states, including Iowa, an F for it's response to the COVID-19/coronavirus pandemic.

The company's social distancing scoreboard has an A-to-F grading system based on behavioral responses to the virus’ spread, and incorporates changes in distances traveled during the pandemic.

Most states now get a D from Unacast. Several, including neighboring Minnesota have been given a C- grade. Nevada, Hawaii, New York and New Jersey received a score of B-. The District of Columbia received the highest score of A-.

Unacast says there's been a 40 percent decrease in average mobility (based on distance traveled), and a 60 decrease in non-essential visits across the country.
