The Salvation Army of Cedar Rapids COVID-19 Update

We are continuing to closely monitor the developments around COVID19. Out of an abundance of caution and in accordance with recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and local government officials, we have taken measures to ensure the health and safety of our officers, staff and those we serve.

           Throughout this crisis, The Salvation Army will remain committed to our mission of Doing The Most Good for all those in need throughout Cedar Rapids. We will continue to provide as many of our services & programs that we can, while still taking the necessary health precautions. This means that there may be temporary adjustments to the ways we serve. The Salvation Army of Cedar Rapids will implement the following changes:

·Beginning at 12:00 pm, Friday, March 27, 2020 our building will be closed to all outside traffic, staff will still be available to answer questions via phone, 319-364-9131, from 8:30 am-12 pm & 1:00-4:30 pm

·Our community meals will continue to be served Monday-Friday, breakfast 8-9 am and Lunch 12-1 pm, available in a takeaway container through our canteen located in the parking lot.

·Our food pantry will remain available for drive thru pick up only. Call to discuss needs with a caseworker and schedule a pickup, 319-364-9131.

·All church related activities have been suspended for 30 days.

·Donations of food, non-perishable hygiene items and money are welcome. Please contact us at 319-364-9131 to donate and schedule a drop off.

We thank our communities and supporters for understanding the importance of these changes in order to help mitigate the further spread of this virus and ask they be patient as the situation remains fluid and changing.
