The Salvation Army of Cedar Rapids COVID-19 Response

The recent outbreak & spread of COVID-19, or Coronavirus, across the U.S. has led to many questions and concerns. If you want to learn the best ways to protect yourself, what the symptoms of COVID-19 are, or any other virus specific information – please visit the CDC’s Website for the most accurate information and updated resources.

 Throughout this crisis, The Salvation Army will remain committed to our mission of Doing The Most Good for all those in need throughout Cedar Rapids. We will continue to provide as many of our services & programs that we can, while still taking the necessary health precautions. This means that there may be temporary adjustments to the ways we serve. Currently, the Cedar Rapids communities will see the following changes to local Salvation Army operations:beginning Wednesday, March 18, 2020, our daily community meal programs will be served as takeaway. Monday-Friday, breakfast 8-9 am and Lunch 12-1 pm will be available in a takeaway container through our canteen located in the parking lot.

·The Salvation Army Cedar Rapids Community center will continue its regular office hours, Monday through Friday, 8:30-12 & 1-4:30, please call with any inquiry to our services. 

·Our food pantry is available, please call to make an appointment with our caseworker, 319-364-9131.

·All church related activities have been suspended for 30 days.

·Donations of food, non-perishable items and money are welcome. Please contact us at 319-364-9131 with any questions.

We thank our communities and supporters for understanding the importance of these changes in order to help mitigate the further spread of this virus and ask they be patient as the situation remains fluid and changing.
