LINN COUNTY, IA – Linn County Public Health received notification that a D.J. that performed at the The Longbranch Restaurant and Bar on Friday, March 6, and Friday, March 13, has been diagnosed with COVID-19. Anyone who was at the The Longbranch Restaurant and Bar on these days should self-isolate for 14 days from that date. This is being strongly encouraged out of an abundance of caution for your health and the health of our community.
The Longbranch Restaurant and Bar has responded with a thorough disinfection of the facility and wishes to be as transparent as possible while protecting the identity of the ill individual. However, we want all Iowans to remember that we have community spread of COVID-19 in the state. Even with individuals self-identifying, anyone could be exposed at some point. It is important to practice the 3 C’s:
1.Clean your hands often with soap and water
2.Cover your cough and sneeze
3.Contain yourself at home when ill
Linn County Public Health wants to remind you that anyone who has met the following conditions should self-isolate for 14 days:
1.Anyone who has been on cruise should self-isolate for 14 days after returning home from the cruise
2.Anyone with a history of travel to a country with a level 3 travel advisory should self-isolate at home for 14 days after returning home.
3.Anyone who has contact with a known or suspected case of COVID-19 should self-isolate at home for 14 days after the last exposure to that individual.
If you develop symptoms of fever, cough or shortness of breath during this period of self-isolation, we ask you to call your healthcare provider.
If you feel sick, contact your healthcare provider before going to the office. This is necessary to protect your health, but also the health of other patients and our healthcare infrastructure. We all need to work together to keep each other healthy.
