Ankeny student identified as teen killed in motorcycle crash

ANKENY, Iowa- Ankeny High School is making counselors available to students, after a 17-year-old classmate was killed in a weekend motorcycle crash. The school is confirming Jordan Leon died Sunday.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office reported a weekend crash in which a 17-year-old female passenger was killed. The 17-year-old male who was operating the

motorcycle had minor injuries, when the motorcycle crashed early Sunday morning in the 71-hundred block of NW 6th Drive.

It is a sad day at Ankeny High School as we grieve the death of one of our students, Jordan Leon, who died Sunday. Our thoughts and sympathies are with Jordan’s family and friends. The school is working closely with the family to ensure they are supported through this difficult time. We have counselors available for students and staff as we deal with the loss in our school family.
