ARGYLE, Texas -- Freshman Manuela Lizarazu led the Hawkeyes through three rounds, earning an eighth-place finish at the Bruzzy Challenge at the par-72 Lantana Golf Club. Iowa finished 13thwith a three-round score of 899 (+35).
No. 35 Baylor claimed the team title with a 54-hole score of 854 (-10), while No. 41 Ole Miss (856; -8) and No. 43 Texas Tech (861; -3) round out the top three.
Lizarazu finished second in the 84-person individual field with 17 birdies after firing five in the final round. She finished first among the individuals with a par-five scoring average of 4.33 (-5). The freshman posted a third-round score of 73 (+1) to finish with a career-best 54-hole score of 214 (-2). The Bogota, Colombia, native earned her second top-10 finish of the season (8th).
Sophomore Brett Permann tallied a final round score of 74 (+2) to finish with a career-best 54-hole total of 219 (+3). She tied for 28th.
Senior Shawn Rennegarbe carded a three-round total of 231 (+15), tying for 69th. Sophomore Stephanie Herzog finished 74th with a 54-hole total of 235 (+19), while senior Kristin Glesne finished 82nd with a score of 249 (+33).
