Rowing Concludes PAC-12 Invitational

Redwood Shores, Calif. -- The 12th-ranked University of Iowa Rowing team capped the 2019 PAC-12 Invitational with performances against top-ranked and reigning NCAA Champion Cal-Berkeley in Redwood Shores, Calif.

HOW IT HAPPENED

I VARSITY EIGHT: The Hawkeyes opened competition on Day two at the PAC-12 Invitational with the 1V8 posting a time of 6:25.5. The crew outperformed both of yesterday’s performances by 3.8 seconds but could not edge out the Golden Bears.

II VARSITY EIGHT: The II Varsity Eight got out strong against Cal and recorded a time of 6:46.7, but were unable to get past their opponents in the stretch. The Golden Bears overtook the Hawkeyes in the second event of the day.

I VARSITY FOUR: The I Varsity Four boat was the last event contested in the final session, pulling to a time of 7:42.8. The Hawkeyes fell to No. 1 Cal to close the invitational after the Golden Bears led with a time of 7:16.9.
