A significant winter storm takes aim on the Midwest Sunday night into Monday, bringing accumulating snow north of Interstate 80, with the highest accumulations north of Highway 20.
Following that, extremely cold air follows behind, with an extended period of air temperatures below zero across multiple days. Wind chills will make conditions dangerous and life-threatening, especially Wednesday and Thursday. A chance for snow exists Thursday.
