Delay in Tibbetts murder trail

The attorneys for the man accused of killing Mollie Tibbetts last summer want to delay his trial.

Cristhian Bahena Rivera, who is in the country illegally, faces a charge of first-degree murder.

KCRG-TV9 reports Rivera's attorneys asked a judge to extend a deadline for them to complete a review of the evidence against Rivera. Attorneys said they have not had enough time to go through all of it.

Rivera, 24, is accused of attacking Tibbetts while she was running near her hometown of Brooklyn, Iowa, last July. Prosecutors said Rivera led police to her body in August.

Right now, the trial is scheduled for April.
