Marion Fire Department awarded Walmart grant

THE MARION FIRE DEPARTMENT  HAS BEEN NAMED A $1,000 WALMART COMMUNITY GRANT AWARD RECIPIENT. THE FUNDS WILL BE USED TO PURCHASE SMOKE DETECTOR BATTERIES FOR THE DEPARTMENT’S BATTERY UP! PROGRAM.  

THE MFD’S FIRE PREVENTION BUREAU PROVIDES A WIDE ARRAY OF TARGETED FIRE/SAFETY EDUCATION AND PUBLIC OUTREACH PROGRAMS AS WELL AS REPLACING SMOKE DETECTORS FOR THOSE IN NEED WITH THEIR BATTERY UP! PROGRAM WHICH PROVIDES REPLACEMENT BATTERIES AND HELPS INSTALL THE BATTERIES WHEN RESIDENTS ARE PHYSICALLY UNABLE TO DO SO.
