According to the sheriff's office, the caller claims to be from Medicare, telling people that information printed on their insurance cards is wrong and needs to be verified with personal information.
The sheriff's office reminds everyone that most government agencies do not solicit information over the phone.
Anyone who has gotten the call and given information should call authorities.
